European Sustainability Manager

We specialize in the global procurement of beef and pork raw materials and collaborate across the supply chain to uphold the highest standards in food quality and safety and support McDonald’s journey toward its 2030 emissions reduction target. Bringing together suppliers, processors, and markets through a transparent and coordinated sourcing model, FMG operates across North America, Europe, APMEA, and Latin America. FMG combines deep industry expertise, market intelligence, technology, logistics coordination, financing, and risk management to help strengthen one of the world’s largest and most complex food supply networks.

 

Position Summary

FMG is seeking a European Sustainability Manager to lead the development and implementation of practical, farm-level sustainability and resiliency initiatives across the European beef supply chain. This role will connect McDonald’s priorities with supplier and producer action, helping improve farm economics, environmental outcomes, climate resilience, and long-term continuity of supply.

The successful candidate will combine agricultural knowledge, sustainability expertise, and strong stakeholder engagement skills to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes with processors, producer groups, farmers, industry organizations, and technical partners.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead FMG’s European sustainability and farm resiliency strategy, translating customer priorities into practical, measurable action across the beef supply chain.

· Build and strengthen relationships with processors, suppliers, producer groups, farmers, and industry stakeholders throughout Europe.

· Identify, develop, and scale initiatives that improve producer viability, climate resilience, environmental outcomes, and long-term supply continuity.

· Support the measurement, reporting, and communication of farm-level sustainability outcomes, including opportunities to reduce Scope 3 FLAG emissions.

· Represent FMG with customers, industry organizations, NGOs, researchers, and technical partners to advance collaboration and innovation across the supply chain.

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines agricultural expertise, sustainability leadership, and strong relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate understands livestock supply chains, enjoys working directly with producers and industry partners, and is passionate about advancing practical solutions that improve farm resiliency, environmental performance, and long-term supply sustainability. Experience in agriculture, beef production, sustainability programs, food systems, or supply chain management is valued, as is the ability to work collaboratively across multiple countries and stakeholders.

In the first year, you’ll establish FMG’s European farm resiliency roadmap, build strong relationships across the beef supply chain, launch practical sustainability initiatives with suppliers and producers, and help deliver measurable progress against McDonald’s climate and resiliency priorities.

Nick Wolf

General Manager - APMEA

Nick Wolf is General Manager – APMEA at FMG Global and a member of the Business Leadership Team. He began his career on the restaurant floor at McDonald’s, gaining firsthand experience in the importance of operational discipline, strong processes, teamwork, and customer focus. This early exposure provided a deep understanding of what drives the McDonald’s System—and laid the foundation for the leader he is today. After progressing through various restaurant roles, Nick entered a traineeship that led to a corporate internship at McDonald’s HQ Australia. He later joined FMG Global as Employee #2 in the Australian business, where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Supply Chain. Starting as a Buyer, Nick moved into the role of General Manager – APMEA within five years.

Paulina Matczuk

Global Supply Chain Director

One of FMG’s first employees, Paulina initially joined the team as a Financial Analyst in 2018 before quickly moving to the Supply Chain team, where she ultimately excelled, working across both Beef and Pork categories. Paulina has extensive knowledge of global supply chain operations with hands on experience in North American and APMEA markets. She has also been instrumental in documenting and developing various processes that drive improvements across the business.
