Sustainability Manger – North America

Job Description

FMG is seeking a sustainability manager to help drive progress within the U.S. beef supply chain on behalf of the McDonald’s System. The sustainability manager will work closely with FMG, McDonald’s sustainability and supply chain personnel, McDonald’s grinders, packers, and other industry stakeholders. This individual will spend a significant portion of their working hours physically present in global MHQ supporting the McDonald’s sustainability team.  Travel will be required in support of projects and broader sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Help identify and vet new companies / technologies relevant to climate levers
  • Help scope climate initiatives
  • Help to build out roadmaps for climate levers and integrate into Scope 3 Progress Tracker
  • Manage Initiative Developer contract
  • Help conduct initiative cost evaluations
  • Support suppliers to develop climate initiative proposals aligned with McD requirements and strategy (with McD, Deloitte)
  • Help develop and roll out packer expectations
  • Project manage LUC workstream
  • Lead agendas for BCC meetings and Working Groups aligned with McD
  • Evaluate and catalogue MRV providers
  • Keep updated on current GHG accounting guidance

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience with beef industry and McDonald’s System stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of carbon accounting and carbon markets
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work and communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders across different organizational levels and different parts of the beef supply chain
  • Willing to work offsite (whether at MHQ or remotely while traveling in support of initiatives)

Supply Chain Coordinator

FMG is seeking 2 x enthusiastic and organized individuals to join our North American Supply Chain team in the role of Supply Chain Coordinator. Based in Chicago, you must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, be customer service oriented, and have an ability to navigate multiple priorities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reconcile daily inventory prior to a morning meeting
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers daily via phone and email
  • Manage inventory at customer’s facility including:
    • Scheduling deliveries to customers
    • Maintaining accurate information regarding ETAs of trucks
    • Maintaining accurate information regarding product specification
  • Update customer production schedules
  • Manage claims
  • Understand customer’s Quality Assurance needs
  • Resolve issues
  • Manage purchase order process/workflow

Role Requirements

To be considered for the role of Supply Chain Coordinator, you must:

  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office and have solid computer skills
  • Have an ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Have a positive and motivated attitude to take on new tasks and challenges as the company grows internationally
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States, the company does not sponsor foreign nationals
  • Possess a can-do attitude with sound planning, organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Have strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Strong relationship building, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contribute as a team member

Connor FitzGerald

General Manager - APMEA

Raised on a farm in the New England region of NSW Australia, Connor has spent the last 20 years contributing to every aspect of the red meat supply chain. From paddock to plate, Connor has extensive experience in the sourcing, processing, exporting and trading of chilled and frozen beef products to China, Hong Kong, Pacific Islands, South-East Asia and North America.

Prior to joining FMG Connor has held senior export trading roles at Japanese-owned beef packer NH Foods, family-owned trading firm Dunnett & Johnston as well as founding his own company to investigate the viability of a feeder cattle futures market for the Australian beef industry. When not working, Connor enjoys relaxing on Sydney's Northern Beaches and following the cricket.

One of FMG’s first employees, Paulina initially joined the team as a Financial Analyst in 2018 before quickly moving to the Supply Chain team, where she ultimately excelled, working across both Beef and Pork categories. Paulina has extensive knowledge of global supply chain operations with hands on experience in North American and APMEA markets. She has also been instrumental in documenting and developing various processes that drive improvements across the business.
